My feelings of fondness towards anything have always been shadowed with fear. My baseline is a balanced seesaw with excitement and fear at each end. Something comes along once in awhile, an inspiration, a poisonous thought, anything, and knock it out of equilibrium.

I really don't want to be afraid. I don't want to be afraid of what I am fond of.
